In 2018, The Enosburg Falls Vital Village Project engaged the local community to create a collaborative vision for a vibrant and healthy village center. The Project Team then developed concepts to further the vision. Through multiple public engagement efforts at the Enosburg Harvest Fest, Enosburg Eats and Walking Tour, and a Public Design Workshop, the community helped prioritize planned concepts to develop an actionable implementation plan. This Vital Village Plan will enable the community to mobilize staff and volunteers, pursue funding, and make these ideas a reality. The Vital Village Master Plan was completed in 2019.
The final master plan can be reviewed as a standalone website, through the following link:
“The Vital Village Plan prioritized 5 top priorities for implementation. While all five of the projects received nearly unanimous support from the community at the Opportunities Presentation, the selection of the top five projects was based on those that would most benefit from further consultant analysis. While these top five projects are important, the village should pursue all opportunities according to timing, community priority, and logistics/feasibility.
Vital Village Plan Top 5 Priorities:
1. Streetscape Improvements: Main Street
2. Streetscape Improvements: Rail Trail Intersection
3. Streetscape Improvements: Depot Street
4. Unified Community Brand
5. Promoting Canadian Tourism”
The Vital Village Project has entered its next phase. The Village Trustees chose to move forward with the streetscape redesign elements proposed in the Vital Village Plan by applying for a grant through the Agency of Transportation to conduct a Scoping Study. Dubois & King has been selected to facilitate this scoping study.
